30 Week Bump

How far along? 30 Weeks

Total weight gain? I believe I've gained 16lbs. I should now be gaining a pound a week.

Maternity clothes? I desperately need to go shopping. I did buy these cute pants from Old Navy. We will see how they fit.

Stretch marks? Non so far, hope that trend continues

Sleep? I had been sleeping much better but for some reason that is not the case this week

Best moment this week? Hearing her little heartbeat.

Miss anything? Being able to bend down and get back up without moaning

Movement? She moves all the time. I really feel her when I'm sitting still.

Food Cravings? I had a craving for pumpkin pie and went to make one only to find out I need more of one ingredient than I had.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing

Started to show? Oh for sure!

Gender? Little Miss

Symptoms? The swollen feet (well, left foot).

Belly button in or out? Still in

Wedding ring on or off? Still on

Looking forward to? We get to see our little girl on the 20th via ultrasound. I have a thyroid condition that they can't seem to get to function correctly so the ultrasound is to make sure she is growing as she should.

Thanksgiving=Thankful

Jack and I (well, mostly me) decided to put up a wall of thankfulness. It wasn't anything too creative, just some yarn and paper leaves. I cut out a stack of leaves and whenever we felt thankful we were to write it on the back of the leaf, placing it on the yarn. Of course, Jack made it into a competition to see who was the most thankful. It turned out to be really cute and am glad we did it. I'm thankful for so much: my health, my love, my God, my family, my job, and of course our new little one who is making an appearance soon. May you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Meaning of Christmas

I love the holiday season. I love holiday music, holiday food, gift giving, decorating, and all the other fun things that come along with the holidays. However, I feel like certain holidays have lost their meaning. I turned to one of my XM stations the other day only to find that it had been switched to the "Holly" station. Like I said, I love Christmas music. My favorite song is probably "Silent Night"but I would enjoy the song even more if it was played in December. Also, have you heard of stores opening their doors early this year? As if 2 am isn't early enough the day after Thanksgiving. No, now stores want you to have the pleasure of eating Thanksgiving dinner and then rushing out at 8pm to shop...on a holiday. Is that really what the holidays have come to be about: shopping? I was talking to my husband this morning about it and asked him if he remembered what he got last year for Christmas. He remembered a few things only because he uses them regularly  Neither one of us could think of what he got me for Christmas let alone what other people got us. It really makes me sad to think that shopping and gifts are all people are thinking about around the holidays. Don't get me wrong, I to enjoy receiving gifts, but it's not what I look forward to.

Random Tuesday

via Pinterest

Well, today is voting day unless you chose to vote early or send in an absentee ballot. I chose to mail my vote in. Jack and I saw a bumper sticker that said pray, pray, pray. You pray in the days leading up to the election for each candidate, you pray the day you vote that you vote for all the right reasons, and you pray after you vote for whichever candidate was chosen.

Our weekend went by so fast. Loved having the extra hour to sleep and spend time with my mom. Mom and I did a little shopping on Saturday. We got a few things for baby and a few maternity tops for me.

We took the pup to the dog beach park. It was high tide which is my least favorite time to go because there is barely any land to stand on. Mom was a trooper as that is not something she would normally do. The pup was exhausted from swimming and running for an hour straight. I can't wait to see him interact with the little girl. He's such a good dog.

We have been trying to figure out what to do about a changing table. I really didn't want to spend the money on a piece of furniture that looked like a changing table. I wanted to get a dresser and just place the changing pad on top. My mom suggested that we take a dresser of hers that she doesn't use and use our dresser for the baby's room. Money saved. Plus, Jack made a nifty top for the dresser to place the changing pad in so little one wouldn't slide off. He's so crafty!

Confessional Friday

Hey ya'll, it's the weekend!! I couldn't be more ready for the weekend either. Work is getting very busy which is good because the day flies by.

Here are some of my confessions (or things happening in my life:)  )

My mom will be visiting us this weekend. I'm excited to do some shopping, baking, and catching up! She is going to teach me how to make a pumpkin roll my grandma would make all the time, yum!

I confess that we didn't hand out a single piece of candy Halloween night. Good thing since I didn't buy any candy. However, a member of the church I work at decided to bring in all his leftovers for the top of my desk. Like that won't be tempting. I guess I should put it out instead of keeping it in my drawer :)

I confess that we have been able to turn the air off a few days this week thanks to a nice cool down. With the doors and windows open, little creatures have been finding their way into our home. Have no fear though, we have a fierce Kitty (Kitty is her name) who graciously kills them all. Poor things.

I confess that I have somehow managed to stay away from purchasing too much for the little girl in my belly but boy is it hard when I browse Etsy on my down-time

Confessional Friday

  • I confess that all I seem to think about is my next meal. Can you say "pregnant"?

  • I confess that the town I live in is wonderful during the months of May through September. However, "season" has officially begun here in SWFL and there are accidents to prove it. I love that the snowbirds keep our economy here booming but do wish they drove just a tad better, just a tad.

  • I confess that I am enjoying people taking notice of this growing belly

  • I confess that I will be making a shopping trip this Saturday because of the above. I received a 20% off coupon from Old Navy which means I can buy more, right?

  • I confess that we haven't done a thing to the nursery. It's a disaster. I order decorations all the time via Etsy but can't find the time to put them up.

  • I confess that I am over-the-moon excited it is Friday. I love the weekends!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I thought I would start trying to post a "What I'm Loving Wednesday" every, well Wednesday based on the season we are in. Since I live in Florida, it's pretty much summer all year long but I can pretend. Here it is.

I'm Loving the fact that it is Wednesday and that the Lord has given me another day.

I'm Loving I was able to hear baby girl's heartbeat this past Monday. She is growing as expected and it's getting more real every day.

I'm Loving my husband and all he does. Sometimes it seems as though he never takes a break but I know he is just taking advantage of this time before little one is here. He challenges me and for that, I'm grateful.

I'm Loving my sweet puppy. How could you not?

I'm Loving the fact that the humidity is dropping just a tiny bit...oh how I wish it would just dip below 80 degrees during the afternoons.

I'm Loving all the pumpkin, apple, caramel, and cinnamon recipes that are on Pinterest.

And I'm Loving all the decoration ideas via Pinterest. I seriously need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby ASAP

Really? Almost half way cooked?

Please ignore the toilet. My husband was around

Well little one, you are almost half way ready to be in our arms. On Friday I will be 20 weeks, meaning there are only 20 more weeks to go. It will go by fast, right? People are starting to really know I am pregnant, there's no hiding it.  I still feel like I'm at an awkward stage though, the stage where I just look kind of chunky. My mom bought me a few pairs of maternity pants from Ann Taylor and had them mailed to me, surprise! Haven't tried them on but will let you know how they fan out. I also bought a few Old Navy Maternity pieces. No, haven't tried those on either. However, the dress above is Old Navy, I just bought a size up in their regular clothing and it's really comfortable. If only it would cool down but it is South Florida.

And "it" is a ...

At 1:50pm on September 19, 2012 we found that you, our baby, are a little girl. Finding out you were a girl was a surprise as EVERYONE thought for sure we would have a boy. I couldn't be more happy that they were wrong. Of course, I would love you no matter what the gender but knowing that God knew you before you were created is amazing to me and your dad. You already have 3 girl cousins to play or grow up with! I am even more excited about being pregnant now that I can put a category to you instead of "it". You now are my little, growing girl. You are 9 in long and weigh about 9oz. You are growing and developing as you should. Your heart rate has been the same the last two visits, around 140 (this makes the whole "girls have fast heartbeats" theory wrong). I have gained 4lbs, I can thank my sickness for that. Praise God that that has gone away and I can/am eating all the time! Your dad and I have agreed on a name but I will probably do a separate post on that later. We can now pray for you by name, which we did last night. It was emotional, for me, just knowing that we are praying for our little GIRL. Everyone is so excited to meet you.

Boy or Girl??

The day is almost here. Wednesday Jack and I will find out whether we are having a little girl or a little boy. In the beginning I thought for sure it was a boy but I am now thinking girl. I have used a few of the "old-wives tales" methods but they were all over the place. One would predict boy the other, girl. Jack and I really have no preference. I mean, it's our baby and we will love he/she so so much. Have any predictions?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

                                              What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I mean, it IS Wednesday. The weekend is almost here.

I'm joining  http://littledaisymay.blogspot.com with a "What I'm Loving Wednesday" post.

The first thing I'm loving is that today marks the one week countdown of finding out if "Baby C" is a boy or girl. As soon as I find out I will be shopping !

I'm loving my husband. I love him being "the man of the house". I love his love for the Lord. I love his corny jokes and silly laugh.

I'm loving that fall is coming...well, Florida fall. We went to Hobby Lobby and purchased a few fall decorations and fall-scented candles. I wish I could drink the pumpkin flavored coffee items now but it's worth the sacrifice.

Have a blessed day!

Sleep = non here

via pinterest

Ah......What I would give to be in such a deep sleep as the little one above.  Ever since becoming pregnant I  just can not seem to sleep through the night. I'm not sure if it's because I have to get up to empty my bladder or I just can't seem to get comfortable. Now, I'm no where near the point of having a big belly in my way but if I lay on one side too long I have to rotate. I would love to sleep on my tummy but guess that's out of the question. Another reason may be that I'm thinking about too much. I realize this is a personal problem and can only be fixed by prayer. I don't really worry about anything but my mind is constantly going. Sometimes I sing songs, think about people, or just count.....and count. The one good thing about this lack of sleep is that my body will be prepared for waking up at all hours of the night to help the little one.

A little about me

Please bare with me as I get this blog up and going. I keep telling everyone how I would love to start a blog and then it just seems to get pushed to the side. I figured with a baby coming I REALLY needed to start blogging mostly to keep track of my pregnancy. Use the blog as my own diary and if people want to read along, great! So, for those of you reading (if any) I want to give a little background on myself and my family.

                                                     Name: Kaleigh (pronounced Kaylee)

                                                                      Age: 26

Married to Jack on June 25, 2011 in Melbourne FL

Moved to Bonita Springs last July. From one coast of Florida to the other.

We have a puppy, well he's 4, named Rufus who we adopted last November. I love him

I also inherited a cat, appropriately name Kitty, when I married Jack. He's a softy

We are in the process of moving out of our tiny 1 bed 1 bath place into a 3/3. I don't what I'm going to do with all that room! Pics to come once we are officially settled in.

We will be welcoming our first child on February 15, 3013. At least that's when he/she is suppose to arrive.

I work at a church in Naples as an administrative assistant. It's a very busy church so there isn't much time to be bored. Except in off season, a.k.a summer. It's a nice break though for a few short months. Jack is a Landscape Architect. No, he doesn't cut grass he makes plans for big communities. He loves it.

He are both followers of Christ. We attend a Calvary Chapel and couldn't be more greatful for our church family. They are truly a blessing to be around. We teach the youth at the church and are excited to see it grow. I think back to the times in my life when I was without the Lord and think " I don't deserve to be where I am today" but I then realize our God is a forgiving God and only wants the best for us.

Well, that's probably more than you cared to know but there it is. Thanks for stopping by.

Confession: I have an addiction to Pinterest

I find myself "pinning" throughout the day. I minimize and maximize everytime the phone rings or someone walks in. I almost get annoyed when I am interupted from my new hobby. I pin all these amazing things: recipes, crafts, quotes, etc... thinking that I will one day apply them all to my life. However, I have close to 500 pins and have probably only tried 7. Most are recipes. I see nothing wrong with this though and would like to share a few new "pins".
